|Ancient runic symbol for NOW, created by Lorrie Lawler.|
I bought this domain name a while ago, for obvious reasons. In the interim, I've swum into Web World, creating a few blogs and learning all the time. One of the things I've learned is that I made the right choice (for the sake of my sanity, although that's always debatable) by apprenticing myself to writing rather than technology, wonderful though it most certainly is, mostly, pretty much mostly, sometimes, anyway...
In any case, part of my Internet education included obtaining the .net suffix for my name, and setting it up with WordPress. It consolidates a couple of my blogs in the one place, and also allows me to consolidate my ongoing interests in writing, mindfulness, memoir, and any other lovely unpredictables that may come along and attract attention.
The new blog is called Transient Total Focus and I invite you to skip over there, take a look, and join the conversation with a nice cup of tea. My other sites, Veranda Life (999 Verandakus, just for the love of it, grasshoppers), and City of Images (baby steps with that one, but it's coming along behind the scenes as the VernLaw Group learns how to take better photos), remain their independent, ongoing selves.
Parenthetically, I've realised that I now see life as akin to bricolage: we put ourselves together each day using the elements - artefacts, ideas, perspectives, perceptions, values - we find around us and inside us. Many of these change, sometimes unpredictably, and many are in a state of flux.
The only thing that doesn't change is the knowledge that we have only this moment in which to live. So let's try to make something positive of it, now, and now, and, well, you get the drift. Let's be bricoleurs together, and see what happens in the moment.
